The Company

Ugly Drinks produce 100% natural fruit-­infused sparkling water. Currently listed in 1000
stockists across the UK we are set out on a revolution to take on overly sugary and sweetened
fizzy drinks.

We think the UK is sweet enough already.

We’re looking for interns to join our journey this summer as we look to hydrate the nation and
spread the Ugly word. Things are about to get Ugly!

The aims of this Internship

Ugly is looking for awesome market activation interns to join our squad this summer. We need
people hungry to help us take on a giant challenge… if this sounds like the sort of thing you are

We are looking for a couple of amazing interns who are up for the challenge of helping us
spread the Ugly word across London this summer. This is going to be real underdog stuff and
you have to be up for the fight!

Activities, duties and responsibilities

Your main responsibilities with Ugly will be:

• Win new Ugly business
o Get face to face with potential customers (like shops, gyms and cafes), introduce them to
Ugly and make sure that they recognise how awesome it will be to work with us.
o Mastermind and execute our Ugly sales strategy to make sure that we are looking good
across London.

• Build and develop relationships with key customers
o Work with key customers and help to show them the Ugly way! We want to do things
o Create plans to really get the most out of working with our key partners and get them excited.

Make the brand ‘pop’ in store so that EVERYONE is talking about Ugly
o Utilise ‘point of sale’ materials and build insane displays.
o Sample Ugly in our best stores, introducing consumers to the brand and showing them that
they are sweet enough already!

Generally, be awesome interns who are hungry to learn, develop and become true
ambassadors of Ugly.

o Have fun.
o Enjoy the journey.
o Hustle, hustle, hustle!

Skills and Experience that will be useful for this internship - these will be used to shortlist candidates

Passion and energy are the things we want to see from you but it would be great if you had
these too:

o Basic ability on Microsoft Office
o Excellent communication skills
o A love of the outdoors

• We would need our interns to be London based for the duration of the internship.


Please note: If you are successful in being made an offer from the company for this internship, you will need to complete an Internship Agreement Letter and return this to UCL Careers before the internship starts.

the food and drink start up process.

Working within a close team the intern will have full visibility of everything happening within the
small start up, from sales to marketing and finance.
Ultimately it will be a lot of fun and it’s a really important summer for our drinks company as we
look to grow.

This opportunity is part of the UCL Careers Summer Internship Scheme. Part of the wage for the successful intern is provided by Santander Universities, but the successful intern will be paid the full amount through the host company's payroll as normal.
