The aims of this Internship

This internship aims to integrate an intern into our current processes, and give them the opportunity to work face to face with our clients to understand, define, build and implement their product specifications. 

Objectives
Work across our business and technical development teams to understand, define, build and implement changes to core products to meet the specifications of our customers.
Define requirements and scope for a program of technical change
Build out and testing (as part of a team) elements of our technical products to agreed specifications and scope
Participate in project management (Agile) for the project, and engage with client management activities 

Outcomes
Experience of working with our technical build team in both Java Script and ReactNative
Project management experience (Agile Sprint)
Experience of customer management
Experience of defining and scoping technical requirements

Activities, duties and responsibilities

During the internship, the intern will manage a small project for one of our clients, which can either be part of an optimisation work flow for a current client, or a new solution for a new client. Ideally, the intern will have a working knowledge of Java Script and key phases of this project will likely include;
Initial solution scoping and approach planning
Defining of customer requirements and workload prioritisation
Customer communication and relationship management
Technical building of features
Solution Implementation and review.

An intern will work with our business development team in London, and remotely with our technical development team based in Melbourne. Localz use Agile project management principles, and each of our technical scrums is 2 weeks in length. For an 8 week internship, an intern will have the opportunity to meet clients, suggest solutions, define scope and work with our development team in Melbourne to build, test and implement the solution. 

An intern will also have the opportunity to get involved in any other areas of our business in which they are interested, from sales meetings to client roadmap reviews.

Skills and Experience that will be useful for this internship - these will be used to shortlist candidates

Ideally the intern will have a technical background, with a working knowledge of Java Script. To built our apps we use React and ReactNative, if a candidate has knowledge of or experience with this it would be useful, but not essential as you’ll be working with our team of experts.
An understanding of restful APIs and best practices would be useful, as well as general knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and innovative, who gets stuff done. Attitude and personality are just as important as technical skill, must be fabulous to fit in 💅

This opportunity is part of the UCL Careers Summer Internship Scheme. Part of the wage for the successful intern is provided by Santander Universities, but the successful intern will be paid the full amount through the host company's payroll as normal.
