Role: Marketing and Data Intern, across all brands

Reporting to:                 Head of Acquisitions and Marketing 

Hours: Full time (35 hours/week)

Location: Central London (Whitechapel)

Duration: 3 months

£ 357 per week

About The Company

This client is a young, dynamic and award-winning international media organisation employing around 50 people with offices in London, Hong Kong and Sydney. They provide essential insight, analysis and opinion to business and consumer audiences in four sectors – Insurance & Risk; Pensions & Benefits; Sports & Classical Music.

The client delivers valued information through printed magazines & supplements; digital platforms including websites, email & social media; events and research to audiences in the UK and worldwide. 

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Data and Customer Insight, to clean and enhance the customer database, help in preparations for GDPR compliance and to provide insight and analysis on the effectiveness of editorial, commercial and marketing activity. The role also involves assisting in the marketing of our magazines, websites, events and ecommerce platforms.

Key Tasks

  • Build an understanding of business and marketing objectives. brand and team requirements and work with the Head of Data and Customer Insight to help shape data strategy to meet these requirements
  • Assist in activity to clean and enhance our database including. Data acquisition and research, augmenting and cleaning data
  • Support planned activity to ensure GDPR compliance 
  • Produce reports to monitor engagement and effectiveness of editorial, commercial and marketing activity
  • and insights that lead to greater knowledge and better interaction with customers/users
  • Assist the marketing team in all marketing to promote our print, digital and events brands 
  • Assist in day to day management of our ecommerce platforms, including; responding to customer queries, updating website and checking on progress of orders

Key skills:

  • Relevant degree
  •  Data analytics experience would be preferred. More importantly graduates with a background in communication, numeracy and basic analytical skills. Please note that a large proportion of the role will be data focused (approx. 75%).
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Comfortable working independently and under pressure
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential
