Start/end date of placement (approx): 8th October 2018. 6 months

The role of the Intern is to provide high-level support in an area that requires a short-term resource.
The role is for Haringey Council.

Public Health is concerned with improving the overall health and wellbeing of communities and addressing inequalities. It encompasses three broad areas of work and diverse activities:
Public Health’s priorities are linked to the Corporate Plan particularly Priorities 1, 2 and 3.
The majority of the public health grant is spent on commissioning health improvement programmes and clinical/treatment services.
The Public Health Team are working on a number of programmes linked to multi-agency ‘whole system’ service redesign and commissioning e.g. the Healthy Child Programme implementation across Haringey, Healthy Schools Programme and Healthy Early Years.
Describe the projects the intern will be working on, including specific responsibilities?
Haringey’s Public Health Team is responsible for commissioning a school nursing service, health visiting and the Family Nurse Partnership programme with an annual value of this commissioning responsibility to be over £4.8million.
The intern will have the opportunity to shape and implement a transformation programme covering;

In order to deliver the universal 5-19 years’ healthy child programme the intern will work on;
Would suit a candidate with a degree in Social Sciences, Social Policy, Health Studies or similar
£372.40 per week
