We are pleased to present an excellent permanent opportunity as a Research Engineer based in London (Fulham) suitable for a recent graduate.
About the company
Our client invents products in the rapidly developing IoT and energy sectors. Our client is currently analysing how monitoring heat and temperature through various means, including using computer vision in the infrared part of the spectrum, can reveal patterns, which let them discover and predict faults, risks and inefficiencies in systems. Our client is looking at technologies where they are frequently the first to discover their potential and application, and take them from prototype to patent and to market.
One of the products they have invented is LeakBot (www.leakbot.io) which is a non-invasive way of measuring flow-using algorithms to detect temperature patterns, and is used to detect if homeowners have leaks in their property helping them reduce insurance costs and water wastage. The employer is now applying that success to a variety of other products that make people safer and more energy efficient.
Our client is seeking one to two more research engineers to work on developing new products in the IoT and energy sectors.
Our client works purely on the research in a very R&D focused environment. The work is about creating cutting-edge inventions, leading to new products that make a difference to the world and that their creators can be proud of. The successful candidate will be working on novel technology and algorithm design in the fields of signal processing and machine learning.
The culture and working hours are flexible, and candidates can shape and direct research in ways similar to a university environment.
The role can be adapted to suit an individual’s preferences, balancing client interactions, physical experiments and head down coding to ensure they experience and develop a mix of skills that works for them.
Position would suit a candidate looking to enter the fields of Internet of Things, Algorithm Development and Machine Learning. They will be using a mixture of local and cloud environments (Matlab/Python/AWS/Raspberry Pi) to experiment with and develop novel ways of sensing and automating processes in the real world.
you will work under one of the senior researchers initially and will gain training and exposure to research in computer vision, signal processing, classifier development and data science. If you prove adept then you will be given ownership of one of our current development projects.
Undergraduates, Postgraduates (Taught Masters) and Postgraduate (Research incl PhD) from a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) backgrounds are welcome to apply.
Technical Skills required
Matlab, Python, SQL, any other of C/C++ #Java, PHP, Arduino, Raspberry Pi.
£25-40K depending upon candidate and experience
Candidates will be interviewed over the phone initially and then face to face over one or two rounds.
